Britney Holthouser, M.A., M.S., LMFT (lic.# 102221)


Britney is the founder and CEO of Animating Principle and Animating Principle’s Workshop. Britney has a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a second Master’s in Criminology and Law. Britney works with select individual clients at the original Animating Principle location. She provides services for all ages and issues, but specializes in working with gifted, ADHD, anxiety, and OCD in children and teens, as well as working with high-achieving adults to help them self-actualize and self-transcend. Britney has a passion for both therapy and coaching services. Britney also facilitates groups and classes, and supervises all Associate therapists at Animating Principle’s Workshop. Britney draws on years of unique personal experience, as well as professional training and education, to help clients maximize potential. Lindsay Snaer, AMFT (#133997)
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Animating Principle, Lindsay prides herself on utilizing her sharp clinical skills to deliver compassionate therapy in a creative, non-clinical setting. Lindsay received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in trauma, from Pacific Oaks. At Animating Principle, Lindsay works with all ages on a wide range of presenting issues, providing therapy using an integrative approach. She also facilitates groups, and offers mentoring and coping classes for youth. Lindsay is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused. However, Lindsay aligns with Animating Principle’s philosophy that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach in therapy. As such, Lindsay tailors her treatment approach completely to each individual client. Lindsay is experienced in working with a multitude of challenges including, but not limited to, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, academic challenges, peer conflict, low self-esteem, family conflict, attachment-related issues, grief, substance use, and ADHD. As someone with ADHD herself, Lindsay is both personally and professionally passionate about helping neurodivergent children and teens harness their challenges and find their strengths. Lindsay believes that empathy and compassion are cornerstones of creating a safe therapy space that facilitates self-growth. She enjoys finding creative approaches and supporting her clients in growing into the best version of themselves. With her positive attitude and growth mindset, Lindsay truly embodies the Existential, strength-based, and out-of-the-box approach Animating Principle is known for.
Sean Chavez, M.P.A., Client Services Administrator
Sean is co-founder of Animating Principle’s Workshop. Sean received his Master’s in Public Administration before serving in local government for the City of Monterey Park and, most recently, the City of Glendale as a Human Resources Analyst. In 2020, Sean left his Glendale position to run administrative and non-clinical client services for Animating Principle. Sean believes in promoting safe, inclusive, and culturally-sensitive work environments. Sean was instrumental in building Animating Principle’s Workshop, and is excited about the many possibilities for better serving the local community that he lives in and loves. Sean also teaches fitness personal enrichment classes at the Workshop. As an endurance athlete, with many marathons and an Iron Man under his belt, Sean is passionate about making fitness and nutrition accessible to all. Kathleen Pickard
Kathleen has her Master’s Degree in Education, is a National Board Certified Teacher, and is GATE Certified. Kathleen currently teaches 2nd grade in Charter Oak Unified and runs the Badillo Tech Club and Tech Team. Kathleen focuses on helping children to build confidence through engaging in STEM activities, such as coding, programming, robots, and more while cultivating creativity and cooperation. She is passionate about helping children to explore and expand STEM skills and feels strongly that there is a place for every child in the world of STEM.
